Happy Summer Everyone
And we’re well into the beautiful English warm and sunny (we hope) season. It’ll be the start of the school summer holidays this month and in line with that the library are running their Summer Reading Challenge. It’s open to bookworms aged 4-11 years and commences on 6th July until 14th September. The theme this year is ‘Marvellous Makers’ which we think you’ll agree sounds absolutely fab! Head over to page 42 for further info.
Now you may recall that back in the May issue we had a one page Step Back In Time feature which included details of the shop (No.5) in Station Road. Well we can happily inform you that there will be more of these to come, starting with another delightful four pages across two double page spreads - Old Shops of Hagley. Thank you to Ray and Don for providing all the information and images for this ...... and as we said this is just the start, so keep an eye on future issues for much more to follow.
Later this month there will be a meeting regarding the setting up of a Community Street Watch and a Community Speed Watch. See Steve Colella’s report on page 10 for more details of this along with the latest news from the Hagley Surgery PPG. More updates from Steve on page 11 regarding the repairs and maintenance of the Community Centre and the latest from Hagley Hub and the Village Market - both of which are going from strength to strength and serving the community beautifully.

And on a final and rather poignant note: For those of you living near enough, you may have heard the beautiful bells of St Leonard’s in Clent ringing on the evening of 6th June. This was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day in honour of our fallen soldiers. We’d like to say a big thank you to Tower Captain Martin and the bell ringers of ‘Clangley’ - you guys did us proud. PS: We have some photos of them in action on page 38
